Slides and lecture notes (and videos)

Presentation

This courses is divided into 4 parts:

  1. Bayesian concepts (👉 slide deck)
  2. Probability of success in biomedical research (👉 slide deck)
  3. Bayesian computation tools (👉 slide deck)
  4. Bayesian applications in medical research (👉 slide deck)

⚠️ WARNING !

The class is designed in such a way that the first day can appear overwhelming, introducing a lot of new statistical concepts and notations, along with some technical programming.

The second, third and fourth days should gradually feel easier as we move towards case-studies and you get more familiar with the Bayesian framework.

It is OK to feel a bit lost at first, hopefully things will make more sense as the class progresses 😄 !

Lectures notes

The lecture notes for this course are displayed below, and can be downloaded here. Those include further technical details (notably mathematical details) not required to follow along the class, but are being presented for the sake of completeness and for the interested reader.

Video capsules

A legacy from the two years the class was taught remotely (during the pandemic).

In case you find those useful, the video capsule breaking down the lectures are still accessible browsing through each section and subsection of the lectures. Each subsection is split into video capsules where Boris presented over some slides. Click on the sections on the left hand side menu to access those.
